Glass In Our Doors
(Klaus Caprani)
Mom takes her old photos down - She wipes off the dust.
As forward looks shorter than back - She cares more than she must
Legions of memories - Digging a trench cross the field
As her stories takes off - I brace myself raising my shield
Here is a picture of you - And your brother outside
You had a new bike - And let him come on for a ride
Though ages ago - We didn't forget how to play
I'm weepin' on steel - And my brother plays football today.
And as the world turns we're running our course
Time and maturity - Staining the glass in our doors
Lookin' at pictures - I still feel like this little boy
Fine but quite scary - Equal messures of sorrow and joy
Take care of today - It surely wont come 'round again
Treasure the moment - The mem'ries through which we are men
But as the world turns we're running our course
Time and maturity - Staining the glass in our doors
Yes as the world turns we're running our course
Time and maturity - Staining the glass - in our doors
